Lamb Burger @ Boulevard Cafe - Daly City, CA

Boulevard Cafe
2 Poncetta Drive
Daly City, CA 94015
Website

Lamb burger - "Fresh ground lamb w/ garlic, parsley, mint topped w/ feta, red onion, cumin-lime aoili"

I chose potato salad as my side because Blake got fries and the waiter said the potato salad wasn't really mustard-y (ew). Everything was delicious! The bread, burger, and potato salad filled me up quickly. I'd order this again!

We, the Pizza - Washington, D.C.

Laura Grace recommended this place, so Diana and I ate there. It is really close to the Capitol building. All of their pizzas sounded delicious, and I couldn't make up my mind, so I took the waiter's recommendation and got a pesto chicken pizza (I don't have the official name because it is not on the website currently.) Anyway, it was good! Also, Spike Mendelsohn, who competed on Top Chef, started this place in 2010.

Flapjack Cupcake @ Baked & Wired - Washington, D.C.

Baked & Wired (Georgetown)
1052 Thomas Jefferson St NW
Washington, D.C. 20007
Website

I was in DC for a conference recently (managed to avoid the bad weather!), and a friend recommended this place as well as the cupcake (technically, Baked & Wired calls it a "cakecup") I chose The Flapjack: "maple brown butter cupcake with caramel buttercream and candied bacon on top (bacon optional)." I wish I had gotten a coffee here too since that is the "wired" part of the Baked & Wired, but I didn't. The cakecup was huge and delicious. I love cupcakes with bacon on top or in the batter or frosting. Pretty tasty. I liked how this place had a lot of unique flavors in addition to the classics. Too bad we don't have a Baked & Wired in California!
