Oyako = chicken & egg (actually means something like "mother & child"). Sad...but true.
Maybe I should have an "oyako" tag. Have I said that already? I've made several posts about oyako donburi. This was good, but it wasn't the best. That purple stuff (uh...tsukemono?) looks kinda nasty. lol
Parents got this from the northside Kirala (GRR! There are no Ls in Japanese!!!)--not the one near Berkeley Bowl, which is actually owned by Japanese. When was this? Two or three weeks ago? I've lost track of time, but it was whenever my brother's band competition was.
