The Pear-y Kozuki

* This recipe was featured in Cooking Across America, the latest edition of their Country Comfort Cookbooks series! Click here for more information!

This is one of my favorite drinks! My dad mixed vodka with sliced apple pears and this Sour Apple Pucker thing (see below). The apple pear's texture is perfect when blended with ice!

1 medium-sized Asian pear, peeled & chopped (about 2 cups)
1/2 cup vodka
1 cup De Kuyper Sour Apple liqueur
4 cups ice
Fresh mint leaves, for garnish (optional)

Pour everything in a blender. Blend well. Pour into individual glasses.Top each drink with a mint leaf (so perfect!).

What's with the name? Dad and I named this drink the Pear-y Kozuki because it's made of apple pears, and they're from Kozuki Farms (one of the Kozukis is named Gary...hence the name Pear-y Kozuki ... like Gary Kozuki). ha! It was originally the Apple Pear-y Kozuki, but it sounds better and the joke is more obvious without the "apple" part.
